Substance Abuse Education Services

For those participants who are not in need of treatment services but are in need of substance abuse education, these programs are offered through Jefferson County Court Services:

PRIME for Life

This program is a 20 hour substance abuse education class for those participants who:

  • Are in denial of a substance abuse problem
  • Display substance abuse behaviors or
  • Have committed DUI offenses

The first goal of the program is to help each participant reduce the risk for any type of alcohol or drug problem. The second goal focuses on self-assessment to help participants understand and accept the need to make changes to protect the things most valuable in their lives.

Prime for Life is a 6 week program normally held on Saturday mornings for 3 hours. The cost of the program is $25 for the workbook. The Court may order a fee for this class in diversion cases.
