Clerk of the Courts

The Clerk of the Circuit and Superior Courts is a county-elected official as established by the Indiana Constitution.

Responsibilities

  • Administers the official court records for all trial court cases
  • Collects 
    • Filing fees
    • Court costs
    • Judgments in civil and infraction cases
    • Fines for courts
    • Child support totaling approximately $11 million in financial transactions annually
  • Serves on Board of Election and County Election Board
    • Oversees, conducts, and certifies election results
  • Prepares the permanent historical record of the courts
  • Processes and issues various documents for court cases
